Welcome
to the Summer Trail Miniature Horses website. We are a small
ranch near Prescott, Arizona. Outside our windows we can view
the red rocks of Sedona and the mountains near Flagstaff. We
have a mild four season climate with lots of sunny days to spend
with our minis and Arabians.
Our
first miniature horse was Little Expressions Fire Walker, a
chestnut and white pinto stallion with a heart of gold. He's
quite an ambassador for the miniature horse.
Fire Walker needed
a companion of his own size so I traded my show saddle for our
first mini mare, Whispering Sands Mystical Mirage. She was bred
at the time and gave us a beautiful silver bay colt. We then
joined the local mini club and met wonderful people who gave of
their time and knowledge and helped us build our herd. To our
little group we have added another stallion, Heza Dancer To Tune
of Mega Bucks. He's a delight to be around besides being
beautiful to look at. Mares came to complete the picture so we
have FWF Lady Kazan, Sunnybanks Ericca, EW Ranch Little Skeeter
and her daughter - Summer Trail American Belle. In addition we
have our first mare's daughter Summer Trail Izzabelle. Lady
Kazan's daughter, Summer Trail Velvet Harley, has found a loving
home not too far away.
Last
but not least, at only 29" tall is Oasis Collection Trace of
Grey. Trace was 1995 and 1996 National Futurity second place
winner. Now she goes to hospitals and schools to win hearts
instead of the show ring.
We
can't leave out our two awesome mini geldings - Mini Trails
Sedona and MSR Majesty's High Caliber. Sedona has been a winning
driving horse and CDE and ADT competitor and has taught us to
drive. He's so good that Mike won the first ADT he ever entered
with Sedona - to whom he gives all the credit. Sedona drives
single, pairs, team, and even has gone in a unicorn hitch.
Caliber has been a Top Ten halter horse as well as winning
halter classes in the west. We were lucky enough to get him when
he became a driving horse with a special laid back personality
until you ask him to turn it on. He drives single and in a
pair and has done parades, CDEs, and even pulled brides in a
surrey to their weddings.
